8th Annual Interprofessional Health Showcase
Celebrating health-related research and projects from students and residents
The Center for Health Interprofessional Practice and Education will host its 8th Annual Interprofessional Health Showcase on April 17, 2026. Students and residents will share their projects that pertain to person-centered care and/or population health and that fall into one of the following categories: research, quality improvement, community engagement, or health innovation.
Abstract Submission Guidelines
Project Requirements
- The first author must be an undergraduate, graduate, or professional student or resident currently enrolled in a UT System institution.
- Qualified projects must focus on advancing person-centered health care and/or population health.
- Individual and team submissions are welcomed.
- Projects involving students and residents from more than one profession are strongly encouraged.
- Completed projects are preferred, but projects in progress will be considered.
Project Categories
- Community Engagement Projects conducted in partnership with a community organization to improve health and/or well-being for individuals, communities, and populations.
- Quality Improvement Projects aimed at improving processes that impact health care delivery or outreach in inpatient, outpatient, or community settings.
- Research Projects involving systematic inquiry to expand knowledge. Includes data collection, analysis, and interpretation. Descriptive studies (e.g., literature/systematic reviews, case studies) are sub-categories of research. Abstracts based on a patient case must include highlights from a literature review.
- Health Innovation Projects that use a systematic process to develop and evaluate new products, technologies, or educational tools that enhance health or health care.

- You will prepare an abstract for online submission. An abstract provides a brief description of your work to entice individuals to read and review your work when it’s presented.

Peer Review and Poster Awards
- Abstracts will be reviewed by a panel of interprofessional faculty and staff.
- Abstract scores will determine award finalists for selected award categories.
